The weather forecast some rain later in the evening so this may have affected number of riders . Notwithstanding some hardy souls arrived at Haddon Services with routes prepared and willing to participate. After a short briefing they were individually on their way .
I had prepared questions about each location , some about the location where they were and what they could find / see other questions required researching about the location.
I waited at the finish The Collyweston Slaters public house and it’s been many years since I was last there, and it was very pleasant tastefully decorated old style and was a very relaxing place . When the riders arrived they completed the question with some internet research on there phones . Everybody did extremely well and found all the locations. It is tight to get a winner and it really was a tie between Mike Moody and Andy Gilbert , however Andy graciously let Mike have the winners bottle of sparkling wine !!

We had a great chat about the answers as some were down to local history and also about Joni’s vintage BMW which is thought to have a least 300,000 miles on it !!! That will take some beating . Sadly the public house closed at 9.30pm perhaps a sign of village public houses these days of tough times .
Andy texted me today to confirm the internet is right that there are 3 commonwealth war graves at Thorney Abbey ( one of the questions ) he initially thought there were 2 , but as a local  had to check !!
We also shared how ‘The Dog In a Doublet ‘ got its name ( another question ) .
Overall a very good evening a thanks to those taking part .
