The final summer evening ride for 2022 saw 8 riders and one pillion brave the elements for a highly enjoyable 55.8 miles from Haddon Services to the ‘Local Fish Bar’ in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

The weather forecast had been for torrential rain and thunder storms, but the timing of the storms seemed to be getting later and later. We met at Haddon at 7pm for a 7:15 departure and during the briefing the rain started to gently fall, but this turned out to be just a small shower, and apart from a few very light and short-lived showers over the next hour and 35 minutes we had a largely dry ride-out.

The group made good progress, considering the conditions, and the standard of riding was excellent from everyone as we ventured on country roads south through the villages to Kimbolton and St Neots before heading back towards St Ives.
Excellent route, very well led by Kevin Hudson and his pillion Dee, good progressive group riding, great venue and a good laugh in very friendly company. A brilliant end to the evening ride-outs!
