On today’s ride out, there was an Ian and a Phil, 2 Bobs and a Garry (2 Rs) with a Barry, bringing up the rear!
We met inside the building at Haddon, for a change, can’t think why! But the clue would be the fact that due to the temperature being at or just under the PECAM 5 degree threshold, it was declared a mates ride rather than an official PECAM ride.
Bob A set off with the intention of taking us to the Dobbie’s Garden Centre in Huntingdon, to arrive before the breakfast cut off time of 11.30am.
The roads were surprisingly dry and Bob had devised a super twisty route which got us to Dobbie’s for 11.27am.
By the time we had thawed out and got inside it was 11.30am and they declined to serve us breakfast claiming that there were seven people already in a queue in front of us, so we reverted to Plan B!
Bob’s plan B entailed a short two minute ride across the road to the Hartford Mill, Greene King Pub and Carvery where we were made extremely welcome, despite the place being very busy.
Some succumbed to the All-Day breakfast, whilst Ian and I decided that as the sun was over the yardarm and the carvery looked very inviting, we would have the full roast breakfast!

Meanwhile TEC Barry was very restrained and confined himself to a tea with a slice of cake!
When we came to leave, I wouldn’t say that the All-Day breakfast was huge, but, as the camera cannot lie, our leader required assistance to get dressed!

Another twisty route back to Starbucks at Orton Southgate saw us get slightly wet as the 4pm predicted rain arrived a little bit early.

A warming hot chocolate with more banter and we all departed to home.
Despite the cold, another most enjoyable ride.
Thanks to Bob A for leading, and to Barry W for wearing the pink vest.
