This was the first Ladies ride out that PECAM had organised, it was a social ride out, in line with the usual PECAM ride out rules.

Six of us met at Dobbies Garden Centre, Peterborough at 10am for a chat and a briefing, ready to head off on the planned route at 10.30am.

Stephanie Evans had planned a 60mile route on some roads I have never ridden before, ending at New Lodge Café at Bulwick for lunch.

With the weather forecast showing the possibility of rain, we headed out on our adventure.

We started our journey to Bulwick, heading to Sawtry and out to the Giddings, following a route through Ashton, Polebrook, before heading to Oundle and Corby.

Some lovely roads, taking in the beautiful villages and countryside that we are lucky enough to have on our doorstep.

We had a short stop in Barnwell, as a wasp had dared to venture into Stephanie’s sleeve and decided to sting her, which was most unfriendly of it!

The weather was certainly very kind to us, as the sun had come out at this point, and whilst we were dressed for the rain, it was decidedly warm.

We finished our ride at New Lodge Café, Bulwick, for a well-deserved refreshment stop.

New Lodge Café, was busy, but as it was such a lovely day, we took advantage of the outside seating area, enjoying a variety of food on offer from the menu, whilst the Sunday roasts looked delicious and were very popular, we all played it safe for fear of needing a nap and decided on various sandwiches and toasties.

We all had a great time, on the ride out and at the lunch stop.

We all made our way home from the Cafe, with Alison and Helen, taking the opportunity to have their own photoshoot on the way back.

Thank you to Stephanie for helping me organise the Ladies ride out and for planning and leading the route and a big thank you to Alison, Helen, Samantha and Lisa who joined us and we hope to see you all again soon and hope some of you will join the regular Sunday Ride Outs.
