Despite the weather forecast and dark clouds over Haddon Services, nine brave souls ventured out to join Martins John’s ride to the recently refurbished and enlarged Cafe Ventoux in Tugby.

Meeting at Haddon Services for a 9.15am briefing to head out at 9.30am, Martin had devised a route of twisty B roads to get us to our destination.

Cafe Ventoux is bigger and better and we took advantage of the sunshine to dine alfresco.

Worth noting that the decor and menu have gone a bit upmarket – a bacon roll is no longer a bacon roll, but bacon on brioche!  Whatever it was called, it was very nice!.

Two of the group departed from Tugby and the other 7 of us rode back by way of more twisty lanes and roads, to the Starbucks off Orton Parkway for a parting chat and to cool off a bit!

The weather throughout the ride was really quite warm, and it stayed dry.

An excellent morning was had by all, thanks to Martin J for planning and leading the ride and to Bob A for his TEC duties.
