Sunday 26th March was the second ride out of the month and with the clocks going back, five bikes met Mark Bearman, Ride Lead at Haddon for 9.30am.

The weather was not being kind and had already drenched those who had made it to Haddon, with the promise of continuing to rain throughout the morning.

Mark had mapped a ride to Johnsons of Old Hurst, with a promise of hot food on arrival.

There was two options for the ride, a 80mile route and a 50mile route, with the promise of continued rain, it was decided that we would ride the 50mile route.

With just six bikes it was decided to adopt the intelligent buddy system

Heading out on some very quiet roads, the intelligent buddy system worked really well, with just a small group of bikes, the rain continued, making conditions difficult at time, but nothing that we could not handle.

At Johnsons, we were met by a very busy café, but the Staff were on the ball and we soon had our hot food and drink to warm us up.

The breakfasts went down well and so did the hot chocolate!

Still damp from the morning ride, we made our own way back home from Old Hurst, on some much drier and clearer roads.

Thank you to Mark B for the ride and for the excellent destination and to Bob A for TEC duties.
