This month’s Slow Speed session was held on Saturday 6th September at our usual place of Westpoint in Peterborough, a safe space to practice vital slow speed skills.

It was great to see so many PECAM Members attending, 19 PECAM Members attended, including some new faces, to take advantage of the coaching on offer and to practice the skills with guidance from the Training Team.

The slow speed course is set up, in line with the required competencies in the Advanced Rider Course Handbook.

  • Riding at walking pace, under control – Riding at walking pace, speeding up and slowing down to walking pace
  • Bringing your machine to a controlled stop – left foot down – Bringing your machine to a controlled stop – right foot down
  • Perform a U-turn in the width of the road 
  • Pull away with lock applied
  • Complete a single slalom course through cones

The slow speed skills are on offer to all PECAM Members and Associates, its a great way to practice those all important skills in a safe environment and get expert tips and advice to help you improve those vital skills.
