Day One – Wednesday 24th April
Ron Coleman had organised this years tour of the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District for PECAM Members, unfortunately, at the last minute, Ron was unable to join us, so Bob Stewart kindly stepped in to lead the Tour.
Twelve PECAM Members had signed up for the tour, eleven of us met up at The Sugar Mill, Bourne and following a briefing by Bob S, we headed off, the route took us through Osbournby, where Kevin & Dee joined the group.

Our first stop was for Coffee in Starbucks, a welcome stop for a warmup, especially for those without heated gear.

Our next destination was Wetherby Services for lunch before heading off to the fabulous roads that awaited us.
After experiencing our first taste of the stunning scenery and superb roads, we arrived at The Fat Lamb, Kirkby Stephen, after checking in, a few of the group decided to go on an early evening ride, whilst others headed to the bar, to chill out with a beer, before our evening meal.

Day Two – Thursday 25th April
The weather today was promising to be a bit chilly, the temperatures overnight had dropped considerably, but we had not anticipated snow, but as we headed out of The Fat Lamb for the day, we rode off with snow falling.

During the morning, we had a pitstop at Hartside Pass viewpoint and what a view it was! The photos really do not do it justice, the sun was shining the roads up to the viewpoint did not disappoint and to add to the enjoyment, no other vehicles in site, Absolutely Fabulous!!

After the pitstop at Hartside, we headed off again, to enjoy the wibbly, wobbly roads and on to Tim Hortons in Penrith for lunch.

Our last coffee stop for the day, was an unplanned stop at The Lakeshore Jetty Café, Windermere, and what a fantastic find this turned out to be, coffee, cake and even local ice cream by Lake Windermere, it was a perfect last stop off for the day.

Another enjoyable evening was had at The Fat Lamb, delicious food and lots of banter, throughout the evening, to end our stay in the Yorkshire Dales.
Day Three – Friday 26th April
Today was our last breakfast at The Fat Lamb, with all the bikes packed up, we made our way home, after stopping for fuel, we headed back to Wetherby Services, enjoying the wonderfully stunning roads and scenery for the last time.
From Wetherby Services, we made our way home, Craig McLean lead a few of us on a longer route, taking in Rutland Water, before all peeling off heading to our own homes.
Everyone enjoyed the few days away, Ron had planned some fantastic routes for us, it was just a shame he was unable to enjoy them himself.
The Fat Lamb, as previously, was very welcoming, with comfortable, clean rooms, the food was delicious, Staff were most efficient and helpful.

A big thank you to Bob S for stepping in, thank you also to Craig, Bob A and Martin, for leading us on our road trip, with many interesting roads and tracks (and gates!) you all did a fantastic job looking after us.
Thank you to everyone, as always for your Company, a very enjoyable time, with fabulous roads, beautiful scenery and lots of laughs and banter, here’s to the next PECAM Tour.
