This Sunday’s ride out had been planned by Nigel Arkle to a new destination for PECAM, Sycamore Café, Billing Aquadrome, this being a regular stop for Nigel, it came highly recommended by Him.

Sixteen bikes and two pillions turned up at the usual meeting place of Haddon Services, with anticipation of a new destination and new, unexplored roads for a PECAM Sunday Social.

Following a briefing by Nigel and a reminder of how the second man drop off system works, with Andy Golding volunteering to don the Pink Vest, we headed off for the days adventure.
The first leg took us up through the Benefield Bends, on to Brigstock, onto the A509 and on to Earls Barton, before reaching the Sycamore Café for 11.30am.
Fortunately, Nigel had reserved us a table, with so many of us this was very welcome, the café was busy, but with various breakfast orders placed, we did not have to wait too long to be served, the food went down very well, with everyone enjoying what was on offer.

The return leg of the day was to Holly Lodge Café, Alconbury, we headed out to Castle Ashby, on through Bozeat and Kimbolton before reaching the Holly Lodge Café.
We had been to The Holly Lodge before, but since the last time I had been, the Café has moved across from the original building, with a shiny new premises, with fabulous cafes on offer!
As the weather was still in our favour we sat outside and enjoyed our coffee and cake, with some banter and laughs after all having enjoyed the day.

A cracking ride out on some new roads and fabulous Café stops.
Both Café’s were an excellent choice by Nigel and will definitely be added to the destination list for future ride outs.
A big thank you to Nigel for taking the time to plan and lead the ride out and for looking after us and thanks to Andy for his TEC duties.

As always, thank you to everyone who attended for their Company.
