Sunday 8th October was the first of this month’s social ride outs, Bob Armstrong had planned a route to take us to the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden Aerodrome.

With the promise of the weather being good to us, following the usual briefing, twelve bikes, six of which were Kawasaki’s, headed out of Haddon for the days adventure.

What a beautiful day it was, the sun was shining, and the temperature was more akin to the Summer rather than late Autumn, the roads were fabulous, some fantastic bends along with glorious scenery and quaint country villages.

We even encountered a hot air balloon over one village!

On arriving at Shuttleworth Collection, we had unfortunately missed the breakfast menu, mainly due to delays on the way through railway crossings on route, but breakfast baps and cake were on offer and very much enjoyed by all.

Although the Shuttleworth Café was busy, there were plenty of tables to accommodate us all and we had a chance to have a look around the different bikes that had ventured out for the day.

Heading out for our return leg, we stopped at the house for a quick photo shoot and then set off for our final destination of the day The Cuckoo in Alwalton.

A big thank you for Bob A for his time and for organising the routes and for looking after us so well and cheers for the drink at The Cuckoo, thanks also to Andy G for his TEC duties and of course to everyone for their Company.

Will have to organise a ride back to The Shuttleworth Collection for a good look round.

This ride will be remembered for a lot of things, but the biggest thing for me, is, it was the first (and probably only time!) the Kwak’s outnumbered the GS’s!
