February’s Social evening was very different to our usual evenings, as we had a special presentation at The Sibson Inn, from The Happy Bikers, aka Steve Staines and Duncan Wales, who are heading off for a once in a lifetime trip around the world on their bikes, leaving the UK in June 2026 on an epic 18 month adventure.
The trip had been a long time in the planning and with the world waiting the diary finally cleared they are heading off from the ABR Festival in Warwickshire.
The dream has finally become a reality.
The plan is to cross six continents riding 70,000 miles.
Preparation is everything, there has been off road training, thanks to Sweet Lamb Off Road Training, Beyond the Edge, first aid training, a set of spare tyres supplied by Pirelli and two brand new Ducati Desert X V2 (Italia model with knobbly tyres), many insurances, vaccinations and learning the rules of countries.
The trip is totally self-funded, money is being raised for Mental Health Motorbike and SERV – Suffolk and Cambs Blood Runners, raising awareness for both Charities, close to Steve and Duncan’s hearts.
The Happy Bikers have decided not to ride the usual route, but to head West, from the ABR festival heading to the Netherlands to start the adventure.
The hardest part will be leaving behind Family and Loved Ones, but with a Sat Phone and the occasional visits along the way, will help to ease the distance apart.

A true inspiration, they are certainly right, there is a big wide world out there and one day only comes if you make it so.
