Sunday 13th October saw 10 Riders turn up at Haddon Services for the mornings Ride out.
Unfortunately, due to problems with Dee’s bike not starting, she had to stay at Haddon to wait for the recovery services.
The remaining Nine Riders set off on some country roads, new to most, as well as joining some favourite, well ridden roads.
Due to the recent rains and flooding, there was a fair bit of debris, silt and gravel on the minor roads, but we were all careful and rode to the conditions we encountered, which also included a few horses and the usual Sunday morning cyclists.
Signage for a road closure had been tampered with, since I rode the route yesterday afternoon, opening the closed road and closing the open road, which meant a U-Turn for the Group!
After travelling through some quaint villages, we arrived at The Old Wharf Tea Rooms, Hickling, a very popular spot for cyclists and bikers alike, the service and food were excellent and with the café being in such a picturesque location, it is obvious why it is so popular!

On leaving The Old Wharf Tea Rooms, we set off through some more very pretty villages and onto Oakham for a fuel stop and on to Rutland Nursery, which was also very busy, but gave us the opportunity to consider as a future destination for food, having lovely views of Rutland Water.
Thank you to everyone who attended, thanks to Garry A for TEC duties, especially as he came from and returned to Derbyshire today, appreciate the effort!
The weather was kind to us and it was a very enjoyable ride!
