Saturday 16th May saw a bright sunny day which was looking good for the Art of Auto Classic Car and Bike Show at Newborough.  This was the shows second year, and the first time PECAM had attended.

Five PECAM members congregated at The Bull public house by 8:45am in order to setup the gazebo in readiness for the day’s festivities.  The new ‘junior’ gazebo went up without much fuss and we were in prime position next to the motorcycle designated show area, a hard standing, and the coffee wagon – perfect.

The show was due to start at 10am, and the motorcycles started arrive from about 9:30am.  The first biker was a member of the Triumph Motorcycle Club, and after a brief chat decided that he would like to undertake the IAM Roadsmart course with us.  He signed up and paid for the course there and then – a great start to the day.

We had lots of great conversations with a wide variety of motorcycle enthusiasts, which resulted in a further sign-up, two people who now want taster rides and an invitation to speak to the Vintage Motorcycle Club about advanced riding.

There were 56 cars and something more than about 60 bikes attending the show, which started to break-up about 1:15 or so.  We packed our gazebo away just as a short shower hit, and were away from the site by about 2:15pm.

A great morning of varied conversations about motorcycling.  Thanks to William Leo, Ian Webb, Dee Hyland and Roger Harris for your company and enthusiasm.
