We were invited to have a Recruitment Stand at Sycamore BMW Motorrad, Peterborough, during the demo day held by Focus Events, to promote IAM Roadsmart and the Advanced Rider Course.
We set up the PECAM gazebo, with Bob S, Tim, Carl, Martin J, Martin M and myself manning the stand.
Focus Events had supplied a fleet of BMW demo bikes and interested bikers signed up to take the bikes for group test rides.
Despite the cold and impending rain, the group rides were very popular and kept Focus Events busy all day, we spoke to a few bikers interested in becoming an Advancer Rider and we did successfully sign up two new Associates with one considering signing up.
Martin Jones, one of our National Observers, took one interested rider on a taster ride, giving him an insight into how he can improve his riding to make him a safer, thinking rider.
All in all the event was a success, with the signing up of two new Associates and getting the information out to riders about being safer is always a good day.
Thanks to Martin Jones for offering to carry out the taster session, all for erecting the gazebo (including Bill) and for everyone who gave up their Sunday.
