A new venue for a PECAM Recruitment Event was the beautiful grounds of Grimstorpe Castle.
Baston Car Show, over the years had outgrown its original setting in the Village of Baston and attending for the first time since it had moved, I could see why!
What a fantastic car show it was, everything from classic mini’s to supercars were on display.
Despite there not being much in the way of motorbikes on display, we had a fantastic response from people attending and were kept very busy, talking to all the motorbike enthusiast attending, we spoke to more motorbike riders today than at any other recruitment event in the past.

Having three beautiful bikes (then I am biased!) on display helped, with Tim’s being the most popular, not sure we would have had the same response had there been three GS’s on display?? (Sorry Bob!)

Promoting the benefits of IAM Roadsmart and the Advanced Rider Course and our Riding Skills Open Day to be held on Saturday 5th July, kept Bob S, Kevin H, Tim, Bill and I very busy, I for one was so pleased to see so many Lady Riders interested with some Ladies I spoke to being new to riding.
During the day, we were very privileged to witness a spectacular Lancaster fly-past, a wonderful sight, as it banked over Grimsthorpe Castle, a real treat.

All in all it proved to be a very worthwhile day, with one Lady I spoke to signing up to PECAM and the Advanced Rider Course and many who attended, joining our Skills Open Day the following Saturday.
Sure we will be attending the Baston Car Show again in 2026.
