This Session was the first one at a new location in Peterborough, at West Point, on the Lynch Wood Business Park, which is hoped to be a new permanent venue for all future training session.

There was a great turn out, with 14 PECAM Members attending to try out the skills on offer.

The new venue was a super location,  great surface, with bays in the car park that were large enough to allow us to keep the different disciplines safely separated.

This session saw the riders progress through the 5 basic exercises, the Skills exercises on offer develop over time, and will be able to be used to extend a rider’s ability beyond whatever they thought was possible when they started.

The most basic exercise was riding your bike in a straight line at a slow walking pace, through U-Turns and basic figure-8’s to a slow speed slalom, on a layout that goes from relaxed to difficult. From these basic skills, then the riders, should they choose to, can move on to the more advanced riding skills used in Gymkhana style configurations.

The session was a great success, with everyone enjoying the morning including refreshments supplied by Bob S, with particular interest in the chocolate biscuits!

Thanks to everyone who ran the sessions and to everyone who attended, keep an eye on Slack Training channel for details of the next session.
