Well Sunday 10th July turned out to be a scorcher!
17 bikers and 1 pillion braved the increasing temperatures to ride a route planned by Craig McLean based on the famous Rutland TT a route used by MCN.
After the ride briefing, where Lee Howell donned the pink TEC bib for his first stint in the role, guided by Martin Jones, we set off into the sunshine for a 54-mile route, heading for The Silver Apple Farm Shop and Café in Buckminster.

The second man drop off system was used, with so many bikes and worked very well, with the group.
The route supplied us with lots of exciting roads on the Rutland circuit, taking in various bends and corners to test our advanced skills on such a hot day, including the famous Bitchfield Bends.
There was a challenge or two on the ride, random deer jumping out on us and a kamikaze pigeon!
The Silver Apple Farm Shop and Café was a welcome sight, as we were all ready for refreshments. The menu offered breakfast, baps and delicious cake.

The second half of the route did not disappoint, more stunning roads around the Rutland circuit, taking in villages such as Tilton on the Hill and Cranoe, on to Uppingham and then to our final stop The Paper Mills at Wansford, where a very welcome cold drink was waiting!

Thank you to Craig for a cracking ride out (we won’t mention the gravel road 😊) and for Lee and Martin for the TEC duties, lovely to see so many bikes out on such a hot day, very nice to see Janet from Cambridge join us again.
