Six of us ventured north to the Waters’ Edge Visitor Centre, Barton-upon-Humber. We don’t go north too often and certainly not so far (about 80 miles), so this was a freshing change passing through our normal haunts like Woodhall Spa. It took about 2 hours on a good mix of roads, some familiar, others not. We met at Bourne A15 services for a change as this suited Brian (Ride Lead) and was in the direction of travel to the destination. The vistor centre has a small cafe with outdoor seating and as quiet, we were served very quickly with good quality low cost breakfasts so everyone was pleased.

Some Great Riding

What was particularly noticeable about this ride (I was riding TEC so could see it all) was the brisk pace set by Brian and how tight we rode a group. We only needed to mark 1 junction on way up and 1 on way down which considering there were many turns at junctions, was testiment to all the riders riding progressively as one. As pace was good throughout, we dispatched a “long” ride barely any longer than a normal one. Post ride Brian commented he enjoyed the ride and the positive feedback from all so much he’s offered to lead again – we’ll take you up on that! We can never have too many volunteers.
