This month’s Slow Speed session was held a week later than usual on Saturday 11th October, due to Storm Amy,at our usual place of Westpoint in Peterborough, a safe space to practice vital slow speed skills.

The slow speed course is set up, in line with the required competencies in the Advanced Rider Course Handbook.

  • Riding at walking pace, under control – Riding at walking pace, speeding up and slowing down to walking pace
  • Bringing your machine to a controlled stop – left foot down – Bringing your machine to a controlled stop – right foot down
  • Perform a U-turn in the width of the road 
  • Pull away with lock applied
  • Complete a single slalom course through cones

The slow speed skills are on offer to all PECAM Members and Associates, its a great way to practice those all important skills in a safe environment and get expert tips and advice to help you improve those vital skills.
