Wow! What at turn out for the second August Sunday Ride out!
Sunday August 28th saw Nineteen bikes and one pillion arrived at Haddon Services for Craig McLean’s planned route to the International Bomber Command, Lincoln.

An excellent briefing was given by Craig, in which Bob Stewart agreed to TEC on the way to Lincoln and Kevin Hudson would take over TEC duties on the return journey, which would end at The Bluebell Inn, Glinton.

The drop off system was used and despite being such a large group, worked really well, with us all arriving at International Bomber Command on time for Breakfast.
The Café was short staffed, but were very accommodating, breakfast, snacks and cake was consumed before we had the chance to look around the grounds.

The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) is a world-class facility to serve as a point for recognition, remembrance, and reconciliation for Bomber Command. Providing the most comprehensive record of the Command in the world, the IBCC ensures that generations to come can learn of their vital role in protecting the freedom we enjoy today.

What an awe-inspiring venue, very thought provoking, a beautiful setting to respect some of those who had given the ultimate sacrifice for us all.

Well worth a visit and will be going back to look around the museum.
The route back to The Bluebell, Glinton, was a mixture of roads, which included the fabulous (in my opinion) Bitchfield Bends.
Many members peeled off along the way, with seven of us stopping for a welcome cold drink, before all heading off home.
A most enjoyable day was had, with so many PECAM Members! I myself have not attended a Sunday Ride Out with so many bikes!

Thanks, Craig, for once again planning excellent routes and venues, thanks also to Bob S and Kev H for their “Pink Vest” duties.
