Sunday 22nd September promised heavy rain for most of the day, but this didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of four hardy PECAM Members, as they meet at Haddon Services for the Plan B route, keeping the ride “in our own back yard”.
The route was a 50mile outbound route to Huntingdon with a 40mile trip back to Peterborough.
As predicted the weather gods were not kind, we endured everything, from partial blue skies to a downpour of biblical proportions!
The conditions were somewhat testing at times, with the driving rain, mud and leaves on the country roads with very difficult visibility, all taken in our stride.
It was most definitely a day to test just how good waterproof gear really is and for a couple, the opportunity to try out Viso Dry on their visors, it would be fair to say, it had mixed reviews.
Still, four set out and four arrived at Huntingdon and four got back, none the worse for the experience, if a little damp around the edges.
