The British Superbike School (BSBS)l held its first training day of the season at Blyton Park on Good Friday, April 2nd, and eleven PECAM members took full advantage of the event as a season kick-off. Although the BSBS training days are held on a track, they are most definitely NOT Track Days! The track provides a biker friendly environment with a near perfect road surface and no oncoming traffic.

The format of the day has changed in light of COVID restrictions, but works very well. There is still a ratio of one instructor to a maximum of two attendees, so you get good individual feedback and coaching throughout the day. There is extensive feedback after each of the five track sessions, and a full briefing before each session. BSBS had sent out the classroom material ahead of the day, so we all knew what was coming along.

The weather was dry, but a bit on the cool side, so we were delighted that the cafe was open for take-away hot and cold drinks and food. The whole day was very relaxed. everyone had the opportunity to explore their own, and their bikes limits, and develop the skills they felt they were lacking.

Thanks to Mike Abbott and his team for a great day, and we look forward to seeing them again in the not too distant future.
