This evening Sqn Ldr Glenn Macey gave us a highly entertaining, informative and fascinating insight into the workings of Britain’s spy plane operations whilst onboard a Nimrod, from the Falklands conflict to the Gulf war.
Glenn enthralled us with tails of hunting the country’s enemies on the ocean, underwater, in the air, and on land. He also entertained us with his team’s hi-jinks at 30,000ft aboard, what was essentially a flying computer. The thought of Glenn, as a rookie, being covered in the remains of the recently cremated has certainly stayed with me.
This was the first Social evening of the Winter, having used the September get together for the online AGM, as well as being the first Social over Zoom video link. This format worked very well, and all of those of us who logged in were kept very well entertained.

Keep checking the Events page for upcoming social gatherings, which for the time being will all be carried out over Zoom. This is very easy to use, and anyone who is a little wary of the technology, please reach out to me and I will happily talk you through it. The Summer Socials, starting in May 2021, will be back with the evening social rides, Government guidelines allowing.
